Eliminating half-yearly performance assessments in high school could have both positive and negative implications. On one hand, it could reduce stress and pressure on students, allowing them to focus more on learning and understanding the material rather than just memorizing for exams. On the other hand, these assessments provide valuable feedback to both students and teachers on their progress and areas needing improvement. It may be more beneficial to reform the assessment system to make it more holistic and less focused on grades, rather than eliminating it altogether. **

Water is eliminated during esterification because it is a byproduct of the reaction between an alcohol and a carboxylic acid to form an ester. The elimination of water helps drive the reaction forward by Le Chatelier's principle, as the removal of the water shifts the equilibrium towards the formation of more ester product. Additionally, the presence of water can hydrolyze the ester back into the alcohol and carboxylic acid, so removing water helps prevent the reverse reaction from occurring. **
